I don't have much spare time to read pulp novels, but what would be awesome to take away from them is a sort of "glossary" of common terms used in the setting. IE, I have no idea what to call "movies", or their version of the internet, mail, etc...

Thanks Sepp. I also just heard "flanging" tonite as a substitute for our favorite obscenity. Reminded me of BSG and "frakking".

Thanks Sepp. I also just heard "flanging" tonite as a substitute for our favorite obscenity. Reminded me of BSG and "frakking". The most common 'curses' used by fighter pilots in the X-Wing series was 'Sith' and 'Sithspawn'. Whether those are actually used in this era, when there are actual Sith around, is unknown. I've not heard flanging being used, but I don't really pay attention to the slang being used when I read. Other words of cursing: Fierfek: Huttese for 'curse' or 'hex' Khapet: Yuuzhan Vong curse Criik: Lost Tribe Curse (by the) Emperor's Black Bones: shock or surprise Hkeek nkulla: A particularly disparaging Jawa curse. Haar'chak: Mando'a for 'damn'
