so the question of the day is - how do I turn off specific companion abilities from being autocast. I finally realized why I'm having so much trouble soloing some of the harder content. its not becasue enemies are suddenly resistant to my CC, its becasue Khem Val acquired AoE attacks and keeps breaking it. i want him to stop. like yesterday. apparently its possible. it might not stick, but its possible. how? please save my sanity, please?

Expand your companions quickbar. This is done clicking on the plus simple next to the short bar displayed by your companions portrait in the lower left. Once open, you can activate/deactivate autocasting by right clicking the ability.
Companions also have stances that can be turned on this way. Kelm has a DPS stance and a Tank stance, for instance. All companions have the Passive stance as well, which is good if they get stuck fighting, or are taking to much damage.
Corso resets his harpoon ability every time he is summoned or you transition to a new area, but that's the only broken ability I know of. Hope that helps.
Edit: Also, not all abilities turn on automatically when they are learned. It's a good idea to check your companion bar each time you level to see if they've learned something new.

One thing I found very helpful is the option to make your companion skills the left toolbar. I was not using the left bar for anything so it was much more conveinient than covering up one of my center bars. Now I just leave it open at all times so that i can utilize all my companions abilitied. Aric especially seems to not want to turn on his shield unless I force him to.

I throw mine on the right hand side, but yeah, my companion skills are up all the time, too.

I use the left hand bar for my companion, but don't keep them up. It is annoying that they have to be visible to use the bindings on them, though.

Was that is more than a bit silly. It took me forever to figure out why the bindings only worked sometimes...I'm a bit slw on the uptake.
I think I coul dprobably close mine now that i have Dorne. She seems to keep me healed up without any input from me.

Where's the option to put it on the left or right? I checked all the preferences and haven't seen it. Stupid question, I know.
